Residual Forms is an original mixed-media artwork created with pieces of burnt wood collected from the forests of Tenerife, acrylic paint, cotton, and gold leaf. The work explores what remains after a forest fire and the possibility of renewal, transformation, and new life emerging from destruction.
The charred fragments of wood preserve traces of the fire, while layers of texture, soft pastel violet tones, and warm brown create a delicate harmony between destruction and regeneration. Touches of gold leaf introduce light and contrast, symbolizing the beauty and vitality that can emerge from what appears to be lost.
Through its organic materials and tactile surfaces, Residual Forms reflects on nature’s capacity to transform, recover, and begin again.
